Pecan season is upon us. It ushers in happy thoughts of SEC football, baked treats, and time spent around a table with family and friends. Something we often have to impart to new customers is the value in “New Crop” pecans. At Home ACE Hardware we only sell pecans harvested this year to ensure the freshness of our product. The difference in pecans we sell and pecans found through other channels such as groceries is the taste. The fresh pecans always have a tan color, never dark brown or red, and you can taste and feel the oil in the nut. Many relatives of customers try our pecans while visiting the Columbus area and then come back year after year to purchase pecans to take back home with them because they cannot get the same quality pecans elsewhere.
